Specialised Group Fitness for people over 50 that focuses on:

  • Improving our clients health, mobility and pain free living.

  • Filling the gap between treatment / rehabilitation and physical deterioration.

  • Reducing loneliness & other mental health issues through social connection & community.

The Three Pillars

  • 1. Improving our clients health, mobility and pain free living.

Our team is made up of very skilled health professionals with decades of experience working with clientele wanting to age well. This includes exercise physiologists, massage therapists and education professionals.

We build our approach using the evolving research in the field, the key principles of exercise and human function, and an in-depth understanding of human anatomy.

The goal for our Age Well group sessions is for our clients to feel great, after class and in their daily lives. As such, we take time to develop exercise protocols that target the key areas of health and function.

    Our sessions include:

    • Low impact cardiovascular exercise.

    • Core & Stability work.

    • Strength and Mobility exercise.

    • Agility and Cognitive Function work.

  • 2. Filling the gap between treatment/rehabilitation and physical deterioration.

We are here to help our clients transition from their rehabilitation plan to full function, and keep them there!

We specialise in heath maintenance. Meaning, our exercise classes are designed to cover all the components of good human function to keep our clients fit, healthy, mobile and pain free for as long a possible.

Our goal is to work with our clients post allied health intervention and provide an enjoyable group exercise space for them to stay fit and healthy. Giving them peace of mind that they are doing everything they can to stay functional and fit.

  • 3. Reducing loneliness & other mental health issues through social connection.

The evidence of the benefits of regular exercise and the positive effect on mental health and wellbeing is overwhelming.

Our sessions have another focus, however, that being peer connection. We believe in building communities that our members can fell excited and happy to be a part of.

In recent years the body of research on loneliness and its negative effects on both physical and mental health has come to light.

Loneliness is often a silent battle and affects many of us, especially as we get older and our peer connection seems to get smaller.

Our Age Well group sessions provide a space for social connection. They are a non judgmental space where people can not only exercise, but also build lasting friendships and meaningful bonds.

What you can expect at our Age Well group sessions

Our sessions utilise a mix of moderate intensity resistance training, low - moderate impact cardiovascular exercise, and balance and co-ordination movements for a holistic group exercise class.

We pride ourselves on ensuring a safe and enjoyable workout environment. As part of this we incorporate well balanced warm up protocols before every session and a thorough end of session mobility protocol after each session.

The main portion of our group sessions are centred around building our clients muscle tissue, bone density, stability and functionality. We use an evidence based approach in combination with our decades of combined experience to create thorough exercise protocols that ensure the safety and longevity of our clients.

Age Well Warm-up

We start with some light cardio to gently bring the heart rate and circulatory system to an optimal position. This starts the cascade of anabolic pathways and allows the cellular transactions in the body to run more efficiently.

Low Impact Cardiovascular exercise.

These exercises are designed to strengthen the connective tissue & smaller muscles around the joints which will reduce the risk of aches and pains. Our aim is to keep our clients healthy and strong not only during the sessions, but throughout their daily activities.

    About Me:

Founded Motivate Optimise Exceed Fitness in 2016 , previously known as Melbourne Outer Eastern Fitness.

My goal for this organisation was to help people gain autonomy in sustainable exercise and nutrition practices. I focused on educating people on the principles of effective exercise protocols and dietary strategies so they could optimise their health and wellbeing around their current schedules and situations.

I found a passion in creating workshops, seminars and short courses that took complex training and nutrition concepts and simplified them into practical solutions.

My motive behind this was simple. I found that the health and fitness space has been saturated in one of two ways. A whole lot of complexities that dance around to point of what it means to be healthy, or some out right dangerous “quick” band-aid solutions to some rather complicated issues. After years of continued research in various areas of the health space I came to a relatively simple conclusion, once you understand the principles of movement and how the body works the strategy is simple. The basics work, and they work extremely well. Couple this with behavioural science and good nutrition practices, in which the same principles are true, and you have the perfect recipe for sustainable health practices.

This realisation is the guiding light of my philosophies. It also led me to the class room as an educator. I wanted to teach and mentor the next generation of health professionals, and I believe I achieved this goal.

I then moved to Sydney back in 2022 and sadly have to temporarily close the doors of my business. Still teaching at the time I had a thirst for getting back to what I love, working at the client level.

I got a job at the Sporting Club of Sydney where I started working with a slightly different demographic. Those wanting to do what they can to ensure they remain fit, healthy and able as they age. I found my philosophy of simple, effective and practical exercise and health strategies fit perfectly to this need.

A few opportunities and wonderful connections later and I relaunched the business, under the name Motivate Optimise Exceed Fitness. Now with a focus on helping people age well in a group setting.

I reached out to Matisse (Exercise Physiologist) and Fabio (Exercise Scientist and Remedial Massage Therapist) who had a shared vision and we built a partnership with a simple goal:

To improve our clients health, mobility and pain free living.

To fill the gap between treatment/rehabilitation and re-injury.

To reduce loneliness and other mental health issues through social connection and community

    About:

Through my competitive years as an athlete, I got to experience the profound impact that physical training and massage have when used in a complementary manner. As we work and carry out our daily activities, we can experience pain, discomfort, and stiffness, which we often ignore and these can lead to more severe outcomes such as chronic pain, tendonitis, bursitis, and joint deterioration.

Together we can work to strengthen your body mechanics in preparation for any physical pursuit and use massage to heal your body from the stressors of these endeavors.

    About:

Health and sport has always been an integral part of my life and being an exercise physiologist allowed me to bring passion into my career. Being an elite athlete allowed me to become an athletics coach for the Special Olympics which cultivated my passion to help other people improve their movement through exercise.

From there I completed a degree in Exercise Physiology (Honours) which allowed me to gain experience in many opportunities.

Ever since I started being in health care, I have helped clients, who have included my teammates, family and friends, to find healthy perceptions of themselves and strengthen their relationship with their body.
